Since the importance of purification of water used in hemodialysis in the new years of hemodialysis is not sufficiently understood, patients have seen serious poisonings created by substances that can always be found in small amounts of city mains water such as bacterial endotoxins, chlorinated compounds, excessive calcium, magnesium, fluoride, aluminum. While the presence of these substances in water may not cause a visible problem in people who drink and use these waters, it is easy to understand why they are the cause of serious poisoning in hemodialysis patients; In late kidney patients, the inability to remove toxins from the body causes the easy accumulation of toxic substances. However, when a normal person drinks 10-15 liters of water a week, a hemodialysis patient contacts 300-400 liters of dialysis solution per week, 300-800 ml per minute during hemodialysis, and any toxic substances covered by that much water, of course, directly at the blood level, the gastrointestinal tract and other sensory organs, the gastrointestinal tract and other sensory organs are badly diagnosed against toxins. there is no way to use defense mechanisms such as nausea, vomiting. Therefore, dialysis water has to be much purer than drinking water, much more free from harmful substances.
Valid legislation on the control of water used in dilution of hemodialysis solutions is inspired by the European Union Pharmacopoeus. According to this; Chemical, microbiological and toxicological parameters of hemodialysis water quality must be ensured to meet the criteria in pharmacopoeis.
The Water Treatment Directive dated 28.10.2011 and Number447, issued by the Ministry of Health on 14.02.2012 and in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on Amendments to The Regulation on Dialysis Centers no. 28204, covers all of them without distinguishing between public and private dialysis centers.
