Print ink is an important part of the materials and items intended to come into contact with food. Inks provide precise product identification to the product and informthe consumer about content – useful and important information. Of course, it is very important that the print ink stays out of the packaging and does not pass through it and does not pollute food stuffs.
Printing inks can be contaminated by indirectly transmitted through packaging and transition during production when the packaging passes into the food-intrictive side during stacking or winding after non-food contact-side printing. To avoid layoffs during the production process, the Commission Statute 2023/2006 /EC sets detailed guidelines for GMP for transactions that contain print inks.
